What Is a Mobile Surveillance Unit?
A Mobile Surveillance Unit, also referred to as a security camera trailer, mobile surveillance trailer, or mobile security tower, is a physical security solution that combines cameras, lighting, detection technology, and remote monitoring to help reduce risk across a wide range of industries. Mobile Surveillance Units are commonly deployed at construction sites, laydown yards, parking lots, garages, remote properties, infrastructure sites, government locations, and other areas that need temporary or flexible security coverage. They can be used in place of security staffing or alongside on-site personnel to strengthen deterrence, improve visibility, and support faster response. Core Security deploys Mobile Surveillance Units rapidly and effectively across the Southeast.

Anywhere, Anytime – Security
Key Features and Benefits
Core Mobile Surveillance Units combine physical security technology, active deterrence, and live video monitoring to reduce risk, protect assets, and improve visibility.

Always, Anywhere Security.
Better Solutions for Modern Problems
The mobile surveillance unit extends visibility, leverages advanced analytics, and strengthens deterrence. Each deployment has markedly improved our Customer’s Security – even in the most challenging of environments.
-
Camera Views
Three Multipurpose Cameras that stretch out to 600 feet. Infrared standard, or Thermal technology capabilities, available. Each Camera is at least 2MP, and NDAA Compliant.
-
Storage and Recording
Store up to 30 days worth of continual recordings. 24/7 our cameras are recording and saving footage for investigative review. Along with special notations on objects that create alerts.
-
Audio Response
Live and autonomous talk down the second an issue arises. Audio can be configured at the time of deployment and to your specifications.
-
Interconnected Technology
Each unit can speak and work with another. When one Mobile Surveillance unit detects an anomaly another nearby Unit can obtain additional views of the area.
-
Advanced Detection
Artificial Intelligence at the Edge detects objects not just movement. Human Detection, Clothing colors, vehicle detection and more.
-
Remote Installation
Each Mobile Surveillance Unit relies on it’s own Power and Network with days of power back up and remote location visibility.
-
Visible Deterrence
When an event fires, alarm lights respond within seconds. Each Surveillance System has a network of lights that respond to elevated Security risk when the situation arises.

Frequently Asked Questions
Solar powered Security Towers designed for durability and dependability.
Do Mobile Surveillance Units need power or internet?
Core Mobile Surveillance Units are self-contained security solutions that operate without external power or fixed internet. Each unit generates its own power, connects through its own dedicated network, and can be deployed in remote or hard-to-secure environments.
How quickly can Core deploy a Mobile Surveillance Unit?
Core deploys Mobile Surveillance Units throughout the Southeast, typically within one to four weeks based on project needs and location.
Can Mobile Surveillance Units be moved?
Core’s Mobile Surveillance Units are solar-powered trailer systems that can be easily repositioned as your project changes. Units can be moved throughout different phases of construction, shifted to higher-risk areas, or relocated as site security needs change.
How long is footage stored?
Each Core Mobile Surveillance Unit stores footage locally for up to 30 days, making video retrieval simple for incident review and investigations. Footage can be accessed by authorized users or retrieved with support from Core’s Operations team.
Can MSUs replace security guards?
Core Mobile Surveillance Units can replace security guards in many situations or work alongside existing security staff. Your team can be granted access to cameras, alerts, and site activity, creating a stronger security program with better visibility, faster response, and more efficient coverage.
What is the difference between an MSU and fixed cameras?
Fixed cameras require power and network connectivity. Core’s Mobile Surveillance Units operate independently from existing infrastructure or can be integrated into your current security video management system. Unlike fixed cameras that are often hidden or limited in visibility, Core’s Mobile Units create a visible security presence that helps deter unwanted activity instead of simply recording it.
Are Mobile Surveillance Units good for construction sites, parking lots, and laydown yards?
Core’s Mobile Surveillance Units are well-suited for construction sites, parking lots, laydown yards, healthcare facilities, commercial properties, government sites, critical infrastructure, energy and utility locations, and other challenging environments that require flexible security coverage.
How many cameras are on a Core Mobile Surveillance Unit?
Each Mobile Security Tower includes three or more high-definition cameras designed for different viewing needs. Depending on placement and site conditions, our cameras can capture activity up to 500–600 feet away, support license plate visibility, and operate at night without additional site lighting.
What happens after an alert?
Each Mobile Surveillance Unit deployment is different, and every site operates under its own approved Scope of Work. If an after-hours human detection alert is triggered, a Core Operator reviews and qualifies the event, then follows the appropriate response procedure. Depending on the approved site protocol, this may include contacting law enforcement, escalating to designated management, contacting onsite personnel, sounding the loudspeaker, activating deterrent lighting, or initiating approved alarm sounds.

How Core Mobile Surveillance Units Work
Core’s Mobile Surveillance Units are designed for simple, secure, and rapid deployment. Each mobile security trailer can be delivered, positioned, and made operational quickly — often in as little as 30 minutes, depending on site conditions.
- Deliver the Mobile Surveillance Unit to the site
- Position the unit in the desired location
- Raise the mast
- Align the cameras for optimal site coverage
- Connect monitoring, alerts, and authorized user access as needed

Erlanger Park Deployment
Erlanger Park Construction Project
Core deployed Mobile Surveillance Units at Erlanger Park, one of Chattanooga’s key development projects. The site presented several security challenges, including unauthorized access, after-hours trespassing, urban exploration, and high-risk theft exposure. Core’s mobile units provided visible deterrence, improved site visibility, and remote monitoring support throughout the project.
-
Core Mobile Units Prevented Theft
During the Erlanger Park deployment, the construction site experienced repeated unauthorized access attempts from organized groups. Core’s Mobile Surveillance Units and Live Monitoring detected would-be intruders in real time, improved site visibility, and assisted law enforcement with identifying individuals involved in the activity.
